DNV GL is a partner for this year's Seeds&Chips, the Global Food Innovation Summit dedicated to food innovation from field to table. Showcasing national and international talent and cutting-edge solutions from around the world, Seeds&Chips will take place at MiCo Milano Congressi, Gate 3, in Milan, Italy, from 7-10 May 2018.
Started as the natural follow-up to EXPO 2015 and to maintain the focus on innovation and sustainability in the food sector, the summit is now being held for the third time and keeps on attracting exceptional speakers. This year's keynote speakers are John F. Kerry, the former US Secretary of State, who will discuss the impact of food systems on climate change and the pathway towards securing a sustainable future, and Howard Schulz, the Executive Chairman of Starbucks.
Food innovation concerns the whole food chain, from farm to fork. The increasing world population and protein consumption, climate change, scarcity of available resources, socio-demographic changes, protection of health and irreversible and overt changes in the processes of choice and purchase are all important to food innovation. This year, special attention will be given to the sustainable sourcing of water.
During the Food Traceability conference on 8 May, DNV GL will speak about one of the most disruptive technologies in this sector, blockchain, and the new Digital Assurance concept that is the foundation of “My Story™”, with the wine sector as the first adopter.
