DNV GL has been involved in offshore wind energy since 1984 and has had a dedicated wind team since 2000. The Offshore department has grown steadily in size and experience encompassing most of the technical disciplines involved in offshore wind farms: wind turbine technology; wind farm layout design; wind and energy analysis; marine civils; electrical engineering; installation; and operation and maintenance (O&M).
The department’s experience extends to analyses in practically all oceans of the world. DNV GL’s offshore wind advisory services include substantial volumes of site finding work; FEED (Front End Engineering Design) studies; bankable energy yield analyses; full due diligence analysis; logistics optimization for installation and O&M strategies; and market analysis - all benefitting from powerful internal databases and suites of analysis tools.
